Testing the waters

I’ve long thought about whether I should offer a forex training course. I get asked a lot questions by the savvy and smart readers of this blog. I enjoy answering these queries and hope that my replies help that person move towards success on their forex trading journey. Helping other people achieve success in something is obviously very rewarding for the guide who helped them along that path.

In addition, answering some of those questions I receive really has me questioning the way I trade and how I go about the business of trading. While it might seem bizarre, it helps me to evolve and grow.

In a way, there would hopefully be as much learning for me as a teacher or coach as for any students that I would be training. It would increase my contact with other people, many of whom would have questions and probing insights into my outlook on trading. Responding to those questions would have me performing self-examination in all areas of my trading life.

A lot of what I have to offer in terms of training material is already contained in this blog. The information is there, unforunately it is widely scattered and jumbled up. Any forex training I offered would present everything in a much more structured format.

I know that there are a lot of forex training courses already out there. Anyone looking to undertake a forex training course is already spoilt for choice.

If you’ve read other posts in my blog then hopefully you’ve seen that I have a clean, simple outlook on how to trade the foreign exchange markets. Trading is more than just finding a system or edge and exploiting it. It’s about discipline and consistency. You have to be willing to work on all aspects of your life, mental, physical and spiritual. You have to have the correct motivation and be able to put together a trading plan that is simple and flexible enough to withstand all market conditions.

The main purpose for this post is to see if there is any demand for such a training course. In testing the waters this way I can hopefully determine if any such demand exists, and potentially what sort of format the course should be structured with.

Would you be interested in a forex training course that would result in you being able to trade the forex markets consistently and profitable?

Let me know either way. If you think it’s a great idea then post a comment or send me an e-mail at colin@forexspirit.com.

If you think it’s a crappy idea and that I’m selling my soul to become a forex training vulture I’d love to hear from you too.

Hello, Colin.
You are one of my 3 favorite Forex writers, one of which is Dirk Du Toit. Do you think you may add something to the person who already read “Bird watching in Lion country”? In fact after reading the book I wanted to take his mentor’s program but it is unavailable at the moment. Do you think you are able and professional enough to conduct such a program instead Dirk?
I feel that I am familiar with the theory. The implementation - the filtering of the news noise, concrete decision making - this is the area where I don’t feel at myself sure.

I think I have the ability and know-how to at least make a difference in helping other people become better traders. While this blog’s primary purpose is to act as a repository for my trading activity and thoughts, I hope that it yields useful information and ideas that might benefit others.

The question for me is do I have the time, resources and commitment to make something like this work. I’m weighing my options, but I thought it would be beneficial to get some reader feedback, which it certainly has been.

Thanks to all who have provided feedback so far.
