I might have been slightly optimistic with my assessment of being back online by Tuesday. Verizon were supposed to have a phone line up and running in the new house on Friday. They bailed at the last minute citing technical issues. They apologised for not informing us earlier but couldn’t say when the issue will be resolved.

Since I’m planning on getting DSL this has also scuppered any possibility of being online any time soon. Looks like I’m taking a trading holiday for the foreseeable future. Probably just as well as I have had a nasty head cold over the past two days and it’s never a good idea to trade when you’re feeling under the weather.

I’m also glad I wasn’t able to trade on Friday. The volatility in the equity markets looked absolutely insane. Better to stand aside and see if things stop going ballistic. Maybe this weekend’s G7 meeting with soothe some nerves, or then again….
